The OhCheese Blog.
Well, this is my first post, not really sure how to begin, but let’s give it a whirl.

I was inspired to create this blog to simply post interesting comments, videos, photos, etc. on things that interest me. It seems like a cool way to keep all those interesting things together and to also share them with public. And, let’s be serious, anyone who’s seen The Social Network knows that blogging is a form of social networking, therefore it is the future! But seriously, it’s obviously no facebook, but it’s a pretty revolutionary way to express personal thoughts.

“What’s the point? Blogging is such a waste of time, I don’t get it.” -Jeff “Squeeze” Thompson

How do we determine what is a waste of time and what is productive use of time? Exactly, we can’t. What one person may deem a complete waste of time, another may dedicate their life to. There will always be discrepancies in the concept of productivity and the inherent effectiveness of one’s efforts. In any case, to answer Squeeze’s question of “what’s the point,” there is, my friend, many points to this revolutionary art of blogging. I could google some stats, regurgitate those, provide a nice concrete and supported argument, or I could continue to just write whatever comes to my head—as you can see, I’ve chosen the latter. The way I see it, everyone uses blogging their own way. For myself, blogging is a great tool to write unobstructed and unmanipulated thoughts on actual issues which interest me. Not only is my material ungraded, but it is published on the web for the world to see. Instead of writing 10 page critical responses to late 18th century poetry by John Wilmot, I get to write about the NHL, or green tea, or 10 ways to discretely masturbate in public (just kidding about the last one).

Coming up in the next post: what is “cheesing it”? and the significance of this recurring colloquial “cheese” reference?
