Well, I hadn’t really planned on posting one of those monumental Tony Horton “before and after” pictures, but what the fuck, we all know I took them.

"After" (pardon the flex)

The 3-Week challenge ended today and I haven’t felt healthier in ages. I stuck to my diet religiously, hit the gym everyday, and even snuck some drop-in hockey in the mix. I learned how big of a role diet and lifestyle can play in your overall energy and vigor. The BIGGEST change came in the sleep cycle; it was easy to wake-up early, no afternoon crash, and when I wanted to go to sleep, I just put my head on the pillow.

Some times were harder then others; those Wednesday chicken wing cravings, driving by a Wendy’s instead of driving through, and of course 2 weekends of no booze (broke on the 3rd weekend, but no beer, so it doesn’t count, right?).

The challenge was a success, so in January I plan on undertaking something similar, perhaps longer, but less extreme. I highly recommend a detox, especially after those holiday good-times take their toll. Speaking of which, it’s time to put health on a temporary hiatus and bring it all back to square one—Merry Christmas!
